Adding pictures to the bathroom:
This bathroom makeover was inspired by these gorgeous photos by Savvy Alli Photography.
This bathroom is small and I could only use a few pictures in here. My absolute favorite from our vintage beach shoot. I’m gonna use it somewhere else in the house.
So back to the bathroom.. I knew I wanted to paint stripes on the walls and I knew I wanted to use some large photos. I painted the entire bathroom the lighter of the two colors in a satin finish and then painted the tan stripes with a high gloss. It gives it a cool contrast and texture. Painting the stripes was surprisingly easy. You just need a large level, a pencil, and some painters tape.
My photo display didn’t go as planned but turned out great. One photo on the other wall in the bathroom, I made it using the same technique, but first I painted the canvas. I took these photos with my iPhone Hipstamatic app (love it!) and had them printed in 8×8 squares.
We made this mirror frame after I found a great tutorial on Pinterest. It is SO easy and makes such a difference. We did the same thing in our bathroom.
I hung these baskets using coat hooks. The counter is always so messy so I thought this would help. I think I like it. I was originally going to use the baskets for my daughters’ hair bows but then I had a brilliant idea…a shoe organizer on the back of their bedroom door!!
I still want a new shower curtain, a ruffled one. And I want to paint the cabinet, probably white. Painting cabinets is a summer project. I’ll update when I finish that. I’m happy with how it turned out. I love the stripes and the photos make me smile.
PS: Pictures of the decorated bathroom coming soon……..
